Putting the ‘DP’ in the GDPR: A One-Year Plan for Compliance

Date: 22 June 2017

One-Year Countdown

The clock is ticking the two-year window between the enactment and enforcement of the new European General Data Protection Requirement (GDPR) is now cut in half. While many organizations, consultants and vendors are promoting high-level guides to help you understand the GDPR, we’re now rapidly approaching the time to take action.

Data Protection is literally and figuratively at the center of the GDPR. The stated purpose of the new law is to strengthen and unify data protection laws for all EU citizens, regardless of where the data resides. But the widespread use of globally-connected cloud services directly conflicts with the goal of EU countries to maintain sovereignty and control over citizens’ data.

If your business uses cloud applications and is subject to the GDPR, then you need an action plan to make sure you’re adequately protecting personal data and not exposing your business to enormous penalties and reputation damage when enforcement of the GDPR kicks in.

Join CipherCloud and a panel of experts for an interactive discussion and guidelines on how to kick start your preparations to be ready for the GDPR.

Topics will include:

  • An overview of the GDPR's data protection requirements
  • Applying 'pseudonymization' to effectively protect
  • Building in privacy by design and default into your systems
  • Strategies to reduce your audit scope and exposure
